About Nebula Genesis

We build infrastructure that makes records trustworthy, portable, and lasting.

Origins

Nebula Genesis began with a simple, frustrating experience.

In 2024, the founder set out to buy a Maine Coon — and ran into a problem that shouldn't exist. Nothing in the pet industry could be independently checked. Health tests were screenshots. Vet relationships were word-of-mouth. Credentials existed, but confirming them meant trusting whoever was selling the story.

For someone who had spent nearly a decade in legal technology — building systems where evidence has to hold up under scrutiny — this wasn't just inconvenient. It was unacceptable.

"I kept asking a simple question — how do I know this is real? — and nobody had a good answer. So I built one."

What started as a tool to check pet records quickly evolved into something bigger: an infrastructure layer for lasting, checkable digital records.

Records that don't depend on a platform.
Records that stay with the asset — in this case, the pet.
Records that anyone can check, without needing an account or permission.

Nebula Genesis is built on the idea that critical records shouldn't disappear, degrade, or rely on trust. They're designed to persist — independently.

Pet health records were the starting point. Not because they're easy, but because they matter — and because the infrastructure to support them didn't exist.

The Mission

Build public infrastructure where pet records stay with the animal across every handoff — portable, private, and independently checkable for life.

Records are designed to be tamper-evident, durably anchored on-chain, and reviewable without special permission — so ownership can change hands without the history getting lost, rewritten, or trapped in one operator's systems.

Powered by Genesis Protocol, our record architecture for secure digital records of non-human subjects.

Founder & Systems Architect

Nearly a decade in legal technology and data compliance, building systems that process, check, and produce defensible evidence for high-stakes litigation. That background shaped how Nebula Genesis approaches every design decision: records should be durable, auditable, and independently checkable.

Full-stack engineering across mobile, backend, blockchain, and data infrastructure — built solo from first commit to App Store. Guided by a simple principle: if a record matters, it should outlast the platform that created it.

Principles

Checkable Without Trust

Every record can be looked up publicly by mint address — no account, no API key. On-chain existence, soulbound status, and genesis hash integrity are independently checkable today. Attestation details and full record history are available through our API, with broader independent checking on the roadmap.

Operator Independence

Pet records, photos, and manifests are anchored to public infrastructure — Solana for record anchoring, Irys and Arweave for content. If Nebula Genesis disappeared, every minted record and its photos would remain accessible on-chain and on decentralized storage. Veterinary attestation data is stored on our servers today; anchoring attestations to public infrastructure is on the roadmap.

Privacy by Design

No personally identifying data reaches the blockchain — enforced by code, not policy. Vet credentials are hashed on-device before transmission. Uploaded documents are screened for personal information before storage. Server-side data is role-gated, with attestation fields encrypted at rest. Privacy is enforced by our architecture and by our Privacy Policy.

Public Infrastructure

This platform was designed as public infrastructure, not a walled garden. Standards-based security. Open records. No vendor lock-in.

Built to Last

Records are stored across three layers — blockchain, durable decentralized storage, and our servers. Each layer reinforces the others. No custom cryptography — every algorithm is an industry standard. Schema-versioned from day one, so records created today remain readable as the system evolves.

"Your pet's record should be in your hands — complete, portable, and simple enough that you never think twice about it."
Guillermo Escobar, Founder
